Strawberries

Dale not only offered money for cherry picking, but he also offered to pay the children one dollar for every ice cream bucket full of strawberries they picked from our garden. Ashton and Kassie both excepted the challenge. Most of what they picked I froze. There was half an ice cream bucket left to be capped, washed and cut. I volunteered Brady for the job. He had every excuse not to do it. My favorite one was, "I can't cap them because I love to eat them so much, I'll end up eating all that I cap!"

Once the job was done I started brainstorming on what to do with them. We already had strawberry short cake when the Missionaries from our church joined us for supper Sunday night.

I came across the perfect recipe on one of my emails from CDKitchen -- Strawberry Brownie Torte. Does this look any better Angie? No hot fruit here! These strawberries are fresh from the stem!
