Kassie will soon graduate from the eighth grade and will start high school in the fall. We've known for two months about the Eighth Grade Farewell. At the end of the celebration there is a dance. The boys are to wear nice slacks with a shirt and tie. The girls have been asked to wear a dress or nice skirt and top. All of Kassie's friends are wearing dresses, so she has been telling me for weeks that she needs a dress for the Eighth Grade Farewell. A skirt and blouse just will not do when everyone else will be wearing a dress! I've been procrastinating shopping for the dress, not having the time to go from store to store looking for the perfect dress, and not wanting to deal with the expense. All the while, week after week I was reminded about how Kassie just had to have a dress! Then today I called a dear friend of mine, Cynthia, that I hadn't spoken to in quite some time. We caught up on what's been happening with our families. Later this afternoon there was a knock on my door. It was Cynthia bringing bags of hand-me-down clothes from her daughter Alice Catherine. Can you guess what was in one of those bags? Not a new dress, but non the less, the perfect dress for the Eighth Grade Farewell! Kassie was so tickled! She loves it! The first thing out of her mouth was, "I think I'm being blessed because I paid my tithing!" Blessings do come from obeying the commandments. This dress from a bag of hand-me-down clothes has helped strengthen Kassie's testimony.

Kassie it is such a beautiful dress! I love your pose! You could totally MODEL! It's nice to see your hair down.
Oh my word...she looks so beautiful. She has grown up to be such a beautiful girl and I know she will be the prettiest girl at the dance because she was dressed by Heavenly Father :)
That's so pretty Kassie!
