Brady gives me a reason to blog

I was thinking that today I wouldn't have a reason to blog. We go to church, come home and nap, eat supper, have Family Home Evening and go to bed -- nothing out of the ordinary. Well, just before supper, Brady gave me a reason to blog! He and Avery were outside playing with a long, narrow, empty box. Apparently Brady was in it, feet first, trying to "walk" when he tripped and fell onto Avery's foot, teeth first! Brady just had the beginning of his braces put on less than two weeks ago. Here he is, fresh from the dentist's chair! (Our dentist is also our orthodontist.) Brady's braces cut Avery's foot and rammed up into his upper lip and gums. He came running into the house covering his mouth and crying. I could tell it was bad, so I called for Dale. I don't handle blood very well, and avoid it all together if Dale is home! Dale took one look and yelled for me to call Dr. Staneck! I dialed his number, left a message as instructed, and copied down the emergency number. When I went to dial that number, I was trembling so hard that I couldn't press the numbers on the phone! I think Dale was annoyed with me. He took the phone and dialed the number himself. In my own defence, I have to say that I had not eaten in 24 hours. This is what I told Dale when he took the phone from me. "Hey, I can't help it! I haven't eaten in 24 hours!" I normally don't deal well in these types of situations, but haven't not eaten in 24 hours made it worse! Well, that's the excuse I'm using! (I had been fasting with the rest of my church congregation. This all took place just as I was preparing supper to break my fast.) Dr. Staneck told Dale to bring Brady in right away. When he came back home he was missing his wires and half his brackets.
Fortunately, nothing was cut real bad and he did not need stitches. Later Brady told me it really didn't hurt that bad, it just scared him. He wasn't the only one scared!

What a fun Sunday you all had. Oh my, I know how you hate those things. Good thing Dale was home. See, isn't blogging fun? You have somewhere to go when you have something to say. :-)
