Kassie's Fourth Year Hike
I have been unable to get pictures on my blog for days! I been trying since Kassie left on Monday to blog about her hike. Finally, I got it to work!
Kassie left Monday morning for a four day hike on the Appalachian Trail. Her pack weighed right around 25 pounds. She hiked during the day and slept in a tent at night. There were no bathrooms, no showers. With the help of a sharp rock, she dug holes just off the trail in order to relieve herself. On day two or three she bathed and washed her hair in a creek. She cooked her meals using a Sterno stove. Is this my daughter? The same child that pouted and cried during simple short family hikes? How did she do it? She told me she was praying the entire time, "Just help me get around the next bend!" "Please get me up this hill!" With the Lord's help, she did it! We're proud of you Kassie!

Long overdue post!
Avery and Bryson hit the double digits May 7th! I'm just now getting around to blogging about it! "Baby A" and "Baby B" were born eight weeks early and spent 4 1/2 weeks in the NICU.
Avery holds Daddy's finger.
Daddy holds Bryson's hand.
Avery came home first. Bryson followed two or three days later. Here I am holding them both the day we left the NICU for good. (Avery is the one with his hand in front of his face.)

I love Peruvian food!
This past Friday afternoon we were invited to my neighbor's house to dine on Peruvian cuisine. It was fantastic! I loved every bite! Maria, shown in this first picture, was the chef along with her mother and good friend.
Maria recently moved to Virginia with her family. Our ward family misses them dearly!
Viviane was the hostess. She and her family are moving next month to AZ. It's so sad to see all these good families moving away! Viviane is such an awesome neighbor!
Maria gets ready to show us the two different meals and how to arrange them on your plate. Viviane is working on writing down the recipes and making copies for everyone. I can't wait to find out how Maria made that onion salad. It was delicious, as was all the food! The only down fall of me making these foods at home is, I might be the only one eating it! Dale can't handle the onions and spices! Ashton would eat it, and maybe Brady. The rest of my family may need their tongues scraped! (My favorite saying of Pap Pap Eyler!)
Try this!
The other day the children saw this experiment on television. I missed it, so Brady tried it at home so I could see.
I'm still amazed that the weight of the forks is balanced by the very end of a toothpick!
If you try this yourself, you need a "shaker" with holes just the right size so that the toothpick will not fall through. Attach another toothpick and two forks as shown.
