The Shady Tree

When I was in high school, every day after school I babysat Holly and Adam Bixler in Gettysburg at their father's place of business. I would push Adam in the stroller and Holly would walk next to me. We often went to Murphy's Department store to buy candy and then behind the high school to "The Shady Tree". This week one day while our children were at Peace Camp, Lori and I walked behind the high school and I showed her my shady tree. I have so many wonderful memories of this simple, but beautiful place. It was neat for me, after 25 years, to bring one of my own children to play in the shade of this magnificent tree!
One day I'll have bring ALL my children here to enjoy a candy picnic like I did with Holly and Adam all those years ago.

25 years ago? :-) I don't like to calculate time in how many years ago it was. I perfer to say something like, "When I was 17 years old, I ...) Then no one has to do the math in their head as to how old I am now! Awesome Shady Tree!
