I volunteered two days this week with Avery and Bryson's Den at Cub Scout Camp. I enjoyed myself more than I thought I would, mostly because of what I learned. Here are a few of those things:

How to whip the end of a rope.
If you roll around in the dirt and grass long enough, you'll grow a tail!

Cornstarch and water does NOT taste good!
There's more than one way to make a ham and cheese sandwich!
(Lori, this was one of the times Josh made me laugh -- when he used his cheese curls as the cheese of his sandwich!)
Chocolate pudding makes a great mustache!
Bryson looks so cute in a pair of goggles!

By far the most interesting thing I learned was the proper way to retire the American flag. Several gentlemen from the Marine Corps helped the boys participate in the proper ceremony. The gentleman doing most of the talking was so passionate about the flag. He had the kind of respect and admiration for the flag that I have never seen before. Listening to him speak brought tears to my eyes.

I am happy that I was able to attend camp as well Gwenda. I now know how to sharpen a knife without injuring myself (giggle). I also know we have a great group of boys with wonderful, endearing personalities. I love them all.
