An Honor for Dale

Saturday night was the last Arcadia indoor Bluegrass show for the season. I was so glad my friend Shelley could come and experience Bluegrass for the first time! She liked it so much she asked when they would be playing again! Hey Shell, maybe next time you can bring Kyle!During most of the evening I'm busy selling food. When the guest band was performing their second set, and no one was lining up for food, the kids and I were taking turns using my camera. We were having such a great time goofing off with that, so much so that I didn't realize Dale was on stage with Bill Emerson! It wasn't until it was time to clean up the food mess that I saw where Dale was.
(Avery took this one.)
(Kenzie took this shot.)
Dale told me later that Bill Emerson asked if he would play fiddle with their band. Dale asked Bill, "Are you sure you want ME playing with YOU?" Bill told Dale a couple different times how much he liked Dale's fiddle playing. Hearing these words, and playing on stage with Bill Emerson was a real honor for Dale.
So, who is Bill Emerson? In the Bluegrass circuit he's legendary for his outstanding banjo playing. When it comes to the best, he's one of them. I told Dale maybe one day someone will feel honored to be playing on stage with HIM! Who knows, maybe Bill was thinking how honored he was that Dale Eyler agreed to play fiddle next to him!!

It was sooo awesome. I was so impressed with Dale, Dottie and Bonnie and from what Dale says they're usually even better than that but with Bonnie's voice issue they weren't at the top of their game...well, I can't imagine their best cuz this was pretty awesome! I will definitely bring Kyle next time though it will be quite a change from his last concert (metallica I think LOL) If I had some money I would have bought a CD! Thanks again for the invite and the tickets!

Congrats Dale! It doesn't hurt to give yourself a pat on the back once in a while. You deserve it!
