Twenty years ago this past March, I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was good friends of mine that first introduced me to the church following my college graduation in May of 1988. I'd known the Hoffman's all my life. Debbie babysat me and I then babysat her children. She told me later that she was just waiting for the right time to tell me more about the Church. It was also the Hoffman's that introduced me to Dale. The two people that were the most instrumental in teaching me the Gospel of Jesus Christ were my two missionaries, Charles Oliver and Aaron Moore. These two men are both very near and dear to my heart. When Avery and Bryson were around a year old I received a visit from Aaron and met his wife and children. It wasn't until last Sunday, May 3rd, that I got to see Charles again, after 20 years!
This day was also Charles and Elisa's 18th wedding anniversary!
We met in our ward building after Stake Conference. I made a picnic lunch, (which we had to eat indoors because of the rain) of hot baked Italian subs, grapes, chips and brownie peanut butter cups. It was a real joy to see Charles again and to meet his wife Elisa. Their four children were back home in California with Charles' parents.
(I look like such a cow in that dress! The dress is a size 8, why do I look like a size 16? UGH! time to loose a few more pounds!)
Visiting with Charles brought back so many fond memories. Those were good times, learning about the Church -- some of the best times of my life!

Yay, pics of the person you told me about! I love to be able to put a name with a face. He is really tall!
And give me a break, you do NOT look like a cow. You look as thin as always.
You continue to amaze me with all that you do. With everything going on in your life, you were still able to pull off such an elaborate lunch. You only told me you brought a lunch. But here I see that you went all out, like you always do. I want to be like you when I grow up! ;-)
I love you, my friend.
Awesome!!!! It is very sweet to see you with the missionary who contributed to your eternal family! Congrats :)
OK -- What's the deal having brownie peanut butter cups without sharing with ME??? And were they "Utz's" chips -- my favorite??? I agree with Angie -- you look great in that dress.
