When I was younger, especially when I was in high school, I read a good bit. At this point in my life I fee like I barely have time to read my Scriptures and Church magazines! Last week Kassie came home from school with a book she borrowed from a friend entitled, A Child Called "It". It peaked my interest. I could see it would be a easy read, so I took the time to read it. WOW! What a story! It was so unbelievable I thought it couldn't possibly to true, but it is. David Pelzer tells the story of his horrific abuse -- the third worst case in the entire state of California. The second book is The Lost Boy and it's just as good. It is a continuation of the first. I have yet to read the third one. Kassie should be borrowing that from her friend next week. I thought of you Lori, as he tells about being in the foster care program. After Kassie read the book (she had let me read it first), she said, "Kinda makes you want to be a foster parent, doesn't it?" I had to agree. This man's story is incredible. I recommend reading the trilogy. For me, it was well worth taking the time to read!

I've read this! We were foster parents in CA - I've been wanting to read the follow-ups but haven't had the chance!
I read the first book a long tine ago, but have never heard of this one. Thanks for sharing it!
